Something Fresh / Motion Graphique

June 27, 2010

I have been working so feverishly on the 1000 Pound Cake website that it has pretty much taken over the hours that I am awake. I love doing the work, but sometimes, staring at the same food planet for hours in a row can be draining. That is why I made this.

The Motion Graphique, or a quick way to get something cool. The process I used to animate the cube was completley sporadic. I started with a cube that had eight divisions along the width, height, and depth. Then I pulled out random vertices to produce the shape in frame one. Over time the number of divisons was keyed up to about one hundred and twenty for each dimension. As more polygons were added, the cube attempted to revert back to a primative.

In a day I have a nice effect that I can add to my reel and be proud of. Now to get back to the real challenge before me.
