Four Blocks From My House
May 22, 2010
Boulder is absolutely amazing. They say there is a curse that was set by the native Arapahoe Indians. The myth says that if you visit Boulder, then you will certainly return or possibly never leave. That is a fine curse by me. Boulder is absolutely amazing and I hate being redundant.
Actually I am all of a sudden really tired. I think it is this Left Hand Fade to Black beer that has got me all drowsy. Or maybe it was the mountain I hiked up today. My boss asked me what kind of shoes I was wearing. My Addiadas All-Stars of course, they were appropriate for hiking and so I joined Leif and his two children on a hike a few blocks away from the studio. It is absolutley amazing. If I wanted to take a long lunch I could walk to the trail and be five thousand feet higher in forty-five minutes. Did I say that Boulder is amazing yet?
We started the adventure at about six thirty in the evening and the mountain certainly was deceiving. It always seemed like all we had left to hike was to 'there' and then we would be at the top. The trail started and Mapleton and Fourth Street and ended with a view of Boulder in front of me and snow capped mountains behind me. It was like I was in a fantasy world, it is mid May and there is still snow? Boulder is amazing and if I don't end up living here then I hope I am not completely immune to the curse and that I visit this place all the time.
Right now I am going to ride my bicycle three fourths of a mile home and rest my body in a beautiful bed with a canopy. This summer is only a blessing and everything is intentional. Either my life is The Truman Show, or this is all meant to be. Those are the only options because everything is beautiful and I believe the latter.
