Another Crazy Monkeys Double Feature
April 13, 2010
The Crazy Monkeys are constantly busy. We have already performed two shows this month and have two more shows, a workshop, and a weekend in Oberlin, Ohio due to be checked off our Super Fun List. The theme of the latest posts is, April is the most fun month ever! I am super happy to be dedicating so much time to having fun with my friends. School work doesn't exist and so neither does guilt in the last few weeks of the semester.
The biggest week of the entire week will be next when students are enjoying beautiful weather.
The next two shows are only a half of a week away! They will be back to back and fittingly I made the posters slightly similar. There are officially four variations and I would like to invite you to download the poster There are many variations because I need to fill in the rest of the space on my wall in my room. These shows are going to be amazing. Greyhouse is my absolute favorite space to perform in. It is so personal and important to me. One hundred and fifty people voluntarily come to be cramped and uncomfortable in a tiny coffee shop for a bit over an hour and all The Monkeys can see when we look out beads of sweat running down the audience's faces. It is the absolute best.
The very next night will be our joint show with Big Dog Eat Child show in Mathews 210. Our sketch comedy friends from Chicago will be there to help us send off John as an era for The Monkeys ends. Don't be in shock if you arrive at the theatre at eight and no one is there to put on a show. I hung up five posters that had the wrong time in high traffic areas. Some were corrected, however the misprint is definitely a hour and a half off because the Saturday show will begin at nine thirty.
The poster has many variations. I wanted a variety of colors and since the event is apart of 'The Grand Alternative' it must feature the logo. What a crock. That logo blows and totally cramps my poster's style, however Purdue did give The Monkeys $500 to spend on Big Dog Eat Child so I guess I'll comply, sort of. Some lucky posters below escaped the branding and remain untainted, however if you are going to help The Monkeys flier, please print out a version with the logo.
